Specialist – Climate Smart Agriculture Designs


Grew up in Arua-Uganda, Joel is an agriculturalist and climate-smart agriculture specialist, with focus on resilience designs in soil and water management. He received an associate’s degree in crop production and management of Busitema University (Uganda), BSc. Agriculture of Makerere University (Uganda) and a MSc. Agriculture from Jeonbuk National University (South Korea). After training with the Korean Institute of Swine Technology, he joined the Center for Industrialization of Agricultural and Livestock Microorganism (Jeongup) of Jeonbuk National University, South Korea in 2018. Since establishing SPODA in 2019, Joel was engaged in collaborative work as a visiting scholar with the Iowa State University (Ame, United States) in the National Center for Swine Research and Technology, he later joined the DANIDA funded Northern Uganda Resilience Initiative – NURI programme aimed at enhancing resilience and economic inclusion of both host communities and refugees in Northern Uganda. Joel has also been involved in consultancies of promoting resilience designs aimed at increasing productivity of soils through infrastructural and agroecosystem integration aligned to the sustainable growth of the agricultural for efficient agriculture systems.
