Born in Ntungamo District Western Uganda, Pius Nahwera is an Animal Production expert with a bias in piggery management and production systems. In 2014, he graduated from Makerere University-Kampala with a Bachelor in Agriculture (Animal Science). Later, he received a Masters of Agriculture from Chonbuk National University (South Korea) in 2019.

His expertise was pivotal during the establishment of SPODA Enterprises Limited in 2019. After training with Korea Institute of Swine Technology and Doogy Farm in Korea in 2018, he returned home and worked at PNR farms Africa limited as Technical Production Manager in 2021. He led the production team and grew the farm from 3,000 to 5,000 porkers in a span of 1 year. He then joined Jjave Piggery farm as the General Production manager before he was employed at NARO-Kamenyamiggo station as animal production scientist, a position he still holds.

Overall, he has been able to manage piggery farms for maximum production while making good profits.
